About Me The name’s Amanda. Basically, I’m just another person trying to find my path through this crazy world. I was born and raised in the wonderful South Boston. My whole life I wanted to escape, and I finally got that opportunity last September when I moved to Stonehill to begin college. Now I realize there’s no place I’d rather live than my Southie. After lots of searching for a religion that I agree with, I found Wicca. I’ve been practicing the Craft for two and a half years now and it really has been the most spiritually fulfilling time of my life. People often label me as a Satanist or don't understand me, but I will continue following this Blessed path regardless of what others want to think. Skiing is amazing. I’ve been skiing since I was 3 so glades and abandoned ski mountains are kind of my thing. I also love music, and I’m obsessed with concerts. It's a very unhealthy obsession that has caused me to come home with various bruises and/or injuries, but I love it. When there are no answers, I turn to art, which is my escape from this world. I believe the realm of art has the ability to heal a person, but that quality is frequently overlooked by those who are too busy to stop and pay attention. There’s nothing I love more in this world than a good library. Libraries are quiet and hold infinite amounts of knowledge. I’m also a fan of museums, and I frequently visit graveyards to reflect on my life and the souls of the departed who surround me. I believe that behind every tombstone lies an untold story, and that story is what I strive to discover. Sometimes I joke about being anti-social, but in reality that is far from the truth. I don’t really have a set group of friends, but rather lots of friends from all different backgrounds and ways of life. Black, white, conservative Christians, drug dealers, Pagans, rockers, alcoholics, Buddhists...you name it and I have a friend who fits the description. I love diversity, and I feel as though I’ve learned a lot from my friends. I would like to think that I’m one of the few real people left in this world, but we all put on a mask sometimes. I look at society and see a bunch of clones, people struggling to conform and in the process losing what it means to be an individual. I try to be who I am, and that often gets me into trouble. But I refuse to play the game and conform with society. It’s pointless to try to fit in when we’re all destined to stand out. I don’t think I’m different from most people, because everyone’s different, I’m just one of the few people who embrace the differences instead of trying to hide them. I’m not sure where my life is headed, and it’s scary to think about where I might be 10 years from now. Sometimes I feel so lost in this world, but I believe that life gets better. I have a lot of hopes for the future, but my only goal is to find happiness which often hides from me.
